Exact Resemblance of the Foliage of the Wood in Canada in October-November, the title of this work, was inscribed on the back of the painting by the artist. From this inscription, we know that Forrest was not interested in depicting a place but rather the magic of the Fall colours. The site however has been identified as the shore along the St. Lawrence River, with the Laurentian mountains in the background.
