- Definition: Visual balance is a principle of design whereby the elements of design are arranged to create an effect of stability. The positioning of the elements according to their size, colour, texture and details creates visual balance, and that balance can be symmetrical or asymmetrical.

- Definition: A monochromatic colour scheme uses various values of a single colour. A monochromatic colour scheme is sometimes called camaïeu, or grisaille when several values of grey are used.
- Principles of Design
- Definition: Principles of design, such as balance, unity, variety, rhythm, emphasis and pattern, describe the way in which the elements of design are organized in a work of art to create a specific effect or impression and convey ideas.
- Public Art
- Definition: An artwork designed to be installed in a public space, often outside.
- Warm Colour
- Definition: In a warm colour, the red and the yellow predominate. On the chromatic circle, the yellow, red and orange are warm colours.
