The recogniton of our family and our name is something that is very important to all of us, including Inuit artists. Lucy Tasseor Tutsweetok created Inuit, Itquliit, Unaliit amma Qablunaat as a tribute to the people who live in Canada's North. The numerous small faces sculpted roughly in limestone depict the Inuit, Indians, Cree and Whites. The overall form of the work seems uncertain, unlike Oviloo Tunnillie's Skier, whose perfectly shaped legs are further enhanced by the polished serpentine. The contrast created by the rough unfinished serpentine above the skier's waist recalls the hard, unyielding limestone used by Tasseor Tutsweetok.
