Urban Desire: Grade 9-12
Summary
This lesson plan introduces students to the theme of the city in art, using 19th- and 20th- century works by Canadian artists from various backgrounds. Students will consider and explore the deeper meanings of the urban spaces that surround them and redesign a neglected urban space into their reflection of a better world.
Theory:
Students will demonstrate an understanding of how the aptitudes and experience required for art making are applicable to other fields.
Creation:
Students will use, with confidence, experiences from their personal, social, cultural, and physical environments as a basis for visual expression.
Analysis:
Students will explain the organization of visual content in the creation of their artwork.
