Summary

After showing students the works in the Canadian Painting in the Thirties lesson plan, especially the work of John Lyman, Woman with a White Collar, ask them to bring in a photograph of themselves or their favourite culture or sports hero. Students will then make a portrait painting in the modernist style.

Theory:

Students will manipulate and organize elements and principles of design to plan their artwork.

Creation:

Students will produce a two dimensional artwork, using appropriate tools and materials.

Analysis:

Students will use appropriate art vocabulary and terminology related to materials and processes.
